Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg position caring for adult and geriatric patients, requiring a GA or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
Position is on a Medical Surgical unit serving adults to geriatricsAverage nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6 with 32 rooms and a daily census of 29Experience with a wide range of Med Surg diagnoses and clinical skills including wound care, IV starts, blood product administration, and chest tube management is requiredWork schedule is day shifts (3x12 hours), 7 : 00 to 19 : 00Floating to other units may be requiredEvery other weekend shifts are expectedNo on-call requirementsThe unit uses Epic for documentation (Epic experience required), as well as Pyxis and SBARNavy blue scrubs are required for all shiftsA maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignmentTravelers must be willing to work major holidays according to assignment timing, with specific holiday coverage expectationsFull compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to start on timePerm or PRN employees must have a one year break from all Piedmont facilities before qualifying as a travelerTravelers returning after being deemed unable to return to a facility must complete a successful assignment outside the Piedmont system before being eligible to rebookTravel pairs are not assigned the same shift on the same unitNo blocked scheduling is allowedLocal candidates are accepted at the same rateRequirements
Current GA or compact RN license requiredBLS certification is mandatoryMinimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experienceExperience with isolation precautions, wound vac, high flow nasal cannula, PICC line management, and feeding tube care is requiredMust provide two supervisory references from a manager or aboveBenefits
