Job Summary:

The Tigers are seeking a creative and social savvy graphic designer to join our social media team. This individual will develop social-first graphics that align with our brand guidelines and thumb-stopping content that will engage our current fans and help us reach the next generation of Tigers fans. The ideal candidate will generate fresh, exciting ideas by leaning into pop culture, industry trends and innovative thinking to produce the best content in sports social.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Create visually engaging social-first graphics for various platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.
2. Collaborate with the social media team and creative department to develop and execute campaigns that align with the Tigers brand guidelines and objectives.
3. Work closely with the social media team to ensure timely delivery of graphics that support ongoing marketing and promotional efforts including gamedays, player performance, events, corporate partnerships, ticket sales and community initiatives.
4. Support day-to-day social media content calendar execution and real-time content creation.
5. Develop content that ties Tigers baseball back to current events, trending topics and pop culture in a way that is relevant to the Tigers brand and our fan base.
6. Generate clear ideas, concepts and design of creative assets from start to finish.
7. Maintain a consistent brand identity across social media channels.
8. Stay up to date with industry trends, social media platform updates and emerging technologies to advise on and continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of our visual content.
9. Partner with the social media team to optimize creative campaign effectiveness.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. 2-3 years of experience in a graphic design role.
2. College degree in graphic design or related field or equivalent work experience.
3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and solid technical knowledge.
4. Strong portfolio demonstrating creative skills and experience designing for social media.
5. Ability to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
6. Must always maintain a professional attitude and be receptive to feedback.
7. Be adaptable to change and open to different perspectives.
8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
9. Willing to work flexible hours including weekends, nights and holidays.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of photography, composition and lighting.
2. Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry.
3. Experience with motion graphics or illustrations a plus.
