Job Responsibilities
- Actively encourage, motivate, and engage with students during the instructional session
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
- Correct student work and provide positive, constructive feedback
- Manage student behavior to create a positive environment that optimizes learning
- Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice.
- Assist in non-teaching tasks, which may include cleaning, administrative assistance, or other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Passion for math and working with students
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Eagerness to learn and be trained
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I - we are particularly looking for someone who is comfortable teaching higher math subjects
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks
All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
Additional Info
- Center is open for instruction Monday - Thursday 2:30 - 7:30pm & Saturday 10am - 2pm.
- Scheduling is flexible, and we are more than happy to work with school and other work schedules. We just ask that you can be available between 5 - 15 hours per week.
- Instructors are paid from $11-$15 depending on experience, education, and math skills. There are opportunities for advancement into other positions- e.g., Lead Instructor.
Compensation: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
