Job Title : Database Administrator

Location : Englewood Cliffs, NJ

Type : Contract

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and support MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis across on-prem and AWS environments.
  • Design and manage replication and high-availability solutions based on application needs.
  • Administer and optimize AWS services including RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, S3, and EC2.
  • Automate database operations and infrastructure using Ansible, CloudFormation, and scripting.
  • Monitor database performance and health using CloudWatch, PMM, Datadog, MonYog, and related tools.
  • Perform regular maintenance, capacity planning, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with development and DevSecOps teams on schema design, performance tuning, and security updates.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and provide operational insights as needed.

Skills

  • Strong Linux administration skills
  • Experience with Shell scripting and / or Python
