Police Officer (Instructor)
You will serve as a Police Officer (Instructor) in the Force Protection supporting training programs of NAVBASE VENTURA COUNTY SEC. Responsibilities include developing law enforcement training programs, schedules, personnel actions, and operating plans for a police force. You will serve as a firearms range control officer in the operation of a range program for a Practical Weapons Course (PWC) or Firearms Training System (FATS). You will review and evaluate law enforcement staff actions for adherence to installation or training policies. You will explain policies, goals, procedures, and regulations to assigned law enforcement personnel. You will collaborate with training facilities (e.g., installation personnel, regional training academy staff) to supplement course instruction.
Requirements include demonstrating at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : experience in developing and preparing detailed course materials, experience in gathering, evaluating, and disseminating current and relevant information, experience in leading instructional sessions, including lectures, discussions, conferences, and practical demonstrations, experience in assessing learning requirements, identifying training needs, and coordinating the completion of necessary training. Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 months of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training.
