The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a CAD Technician I – Site Civil to support civil/site design projects from our Lexington, KY office. In this role, you will contribute to a variety of land development and municipal infrastructure projects, working closely with engineers and designers to prepare construction-ready drawings and technical documentation.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career CAD professional to grow technical drafting skills while supporting projects involving site development, water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater management, and roadway design.

What You’ll Do:

As a CAD Technician I, you will use AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare design drawings and support engineering teams in the development of site development and municipal infrastructure plans. You will assist in producing accurate, high-quality construction documents while following established CAD standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare civil engineering drawings for land development and municipal infrastructure projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist in the preparation of plan sets including grading, roadway layouts, parking areas, stormwater systems, water distribution, wastewater collection, and erosion control plans.
• Create and revise detail drawings, plan/profile sheets, and technical diagrams based on engineer markups.
• Support the development of construction drawings suitable for permitting, bidding, and construction.
• Modify drawings and prepare as-built documentation as required.
• Apply project CAD standards and client-specific drafting guidelines.
• Organize and maintain drawing files and documentation for project teams.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet design requirements and project deadlines.

What You’ll Bring:

• Associate’s Degree or technical certificate in CAD, Drafting, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• 1+ year of experience as a CAD or design technician supporting civil/site or municipal infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of CAD standards, Civil 3D features, annotation styles, surfaces, line styles, sheet setup, and sheet set management.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project teams.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
