The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for comprehensive direct patient care working in conjunction with a supervising Physician. The PA manages a caseload of patients and exercises autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of delegated medical treatments.

Responsibilities:
Serve as an advocate in the delivery of compassionate, comprehensive care to patients and their families.
Utilize expert knowledge, skills and abilities to strengthen clinical practice in their specialty throughout the organization.
Evaluate patient outcomes and revise plans of care accordingly.
Accurately interpret diagnostic tests.
Communicate any abnormalities or complications with the medical staff. This consultation may result in co-management or referral of client to medical management.
Develop problem lists with associated differential diagnosis.
Identify educational needs of the client and family and assist with teaching.
Incorporate assessment finding into a plan to direct client care.
Formulate a plan of care in collaboration with the client, family, physician, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team which incorporates health care maintenance, teaching, and follow-up care.
Accurately and appropriately perform routine diagnostic and therapeutic techniques according to established protocols and standardized procedures.
Seek appropriate consultation dependent upon client health care needs.
Accurately collect, document, and communicate patient history, examination findings, clinical assessment, and plan of care in the electronic medical record and with the interdisciplinary care team.
Establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with health care colleagues.
Travel to the FFHC sites as necessary.
Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with fellow healthcare providers and FFHC clinical staff.
Adhere to the FFHC professional code of ethics.
Experience:
Three to five years of clinical experience, at least two in the specialty area of care preferred.
Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in carrying out work duties.
Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability needed to ensure care appropriate to the age and needs of the population served.
Attention to detail and dedication to accuracy.
Must be able to function with discretion and confidentiality always keeping in mind HIPAA requirements.
Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills.
Flexibility with managing multiple projects and caseloads simultaneously and respond quickly when priorities change.
Education:
Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States; Board certified.
Current CPR (BLS) certifications. ACLS preferred.
Illinois DPS and DEA registrations.
Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers.
Completion of an accredited general practice residency program is preferred.
Bilingual, clinically fluent in Spanish preferred.
