National law firm is seeking a highly-motivated civil litigation associate with 6+ years of active civil litigation experience to assist with a fast-paced trial docket and to help grow its Kansas City, Missouri office. This Firm practices in the areas of insurance defense litigation, business litigation, municipal law, employment law and general litigation.

Qualified candidates must be licensed in Missouri and Kansas and have experience with :

• Independently handling an active caseload with little to no supervision
• Taking and defending depositions (parties, experts, etc.)
• Preparing complex pleadings and motions, including petitions, answers, motions for summary judgment, discovery-related motions, etc.
• Drafting and arguing motions before a trial court

Qualified candidates must have excellent research and writing skills and strong communication and organization skills. Candidates should have high energy, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take on new projects and learn new skills quickly.

Attorneys joining the Firm will have opportunities to work on a variety of cases and projects, as well as participate in and handle jury / bench trials in state and federal courts, depositions, motion and discovery practice, appellate practice, and be responsible for regular client communications.
