The CFSS Adventure-based – Lead Staff is central to the coordination and delivery of services to youth / young adults / adults(YYA) involved with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Department of Children & Families (DCF), Department of Mental Health (DMH), and the Department of Public Health (DPH) in Adventure-Based, Experiential Learning (AB / EL) Programming.
This position facilitates on and off site Adventure programming using an experiential learning cycle. The right candidate is a technically trained outdoor leader with experience managing risks, designing scaffolded learning lesson planning and AB / EL group facilitation. This is a full time position with benefits.
The qualified candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth and families, and at least 1 year of experience working as a field guide or facilitating other AB / EL programming. Group facilitation and strong relationship-building skills required. Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Outdoor Education, or related field preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills required. Valid driver’s license, reliable and safe transportation required.
