Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school need. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.

Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises. Required Qualifications Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required. Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching experience and direct social work practice experience are preferred.
