OVERVIEW :

Under the supervision of the Shelter Operations Manager, the Interim Shelter Program Coordinator assists with the daily operations and overall functioning of the ACES Shelter Program. This position provides direct operational support, staff supervision, coordination of client services, and compliance oversight to ensure the shelter operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Salvation Army policies and program requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist the Shelter Operations Manager with the daily operations and overall functioning of the ACES Shelter ProgramMaintain and enforce established operational, safety, and emergency protocols at the shelter siteServe as the first-line supervisor for all ACES shelter staffAssign and delegate tasks to shelter floor staff and follow up to ensure timely and accurate completionOversee case management coordination, including holding weekly meetings with case management staff to ensure client needs are being addressed and required data and reports are accurate and currentAssist with compiling and submitting statistics, reports, and other documentation required for grant compliance, funding sources, government agencies, and Salvation Army reportingSupport the Shelter Operations Manager with staff scheduling and administration of employee paid time off, as directedReview, verify, and approve employee timekeeping and paid time off entries in UKG for payroll processingInitiate and report workers’ compensation claims to Sedgwick for ACES shelter staffParticipate in interviewing and hiring processes for open shelter floor staff positions in coordination with the Shelter Operations Manager and / or Human ResourcesFacilitate client and program participant house meetingsLead or support periodic staff meetings, as assignedAddress client concerns and resolve issues when possible; escalate concerns to the Shelter Operations Manager as neededReview, track, and submit written incident reports and grievances to GS-Reports on a weekly basis, ensuring the Shelter Operations Manager is informed to support appropriate follow-up and decision-makingSupport employee disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Shelter Director, Corps Officers, and Human ResourcesReport employee disciplinary matters to the Shelter Operations Manager and / or Human Resources in a timely mannerEnsure daily law enforcement notification of shelter attendance, in accordance with program and agency requirementsAssist the Shelter Operations Manager, as directed, with coordinating staff training in First Aid, CPR, AED, Mental Health, Conflict Management, Recovery Programs, and serving at-risk populationsPerform other related duties as assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma or equivalent (required)CA driver’s license (required)Experience working in social services (1 year required)Professional licensure in HMIS intake and reporting or willingness to obtainExperienced in mental health, substance use, and traumaExperience supervising staff (1 year required)Experience with Microsoft programs21 years of age (required)SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
