Position Summary: Responsible for providing direct support to People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in a group home setting. Part-Time staff must commit to
working EVERY Thursday thru Sunday.
Position responsibilities: • Provide support to each individual in the following ways (as needed): cooking/meal preparation, housekeeping, changing clothes, bathing, escorting individuals in the community, active treatment/assist with achieving specific goals, etc.
• Responsible for basic health, safety and supervision of People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.
• Implement Plans effectively to address individual needs.
• Interact, and communicate positively with People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and treat them with dignity and respect at all times.
• Work collaborative as a team; display a positive, flexible, and cooperative attitude towards People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, coworkers and supervisors.
• Report or communicate all information pertinent to the continuity of care for People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities to immediate supervisor.
• Effectively and legibly complete required documentation.
• Comply with all CMS and DDS regulations and policies and attend all CMS and DDS required meetings and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
Essential skills and experience: • High School Diploma/GED
• Physical/Criminal Background Check
• CPR/First Aide
• 18 years of age, or older
• Valid Driver License
• Completion of DC Required Phase Trainings/Orientation training.
• Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination Status
Nonessential skills and experience: • Caretaking/Healthcare experience
• Experience working with People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.
• HHA/MA/CNA/TME certification a plus
• Sign Language a plus
