Editor IV – Entertainment Content Merchandising Strategy Specialist

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Editor IV to create, curate, and maintain editorial features across multiple content channels—including news, sports, finance, lifestyle, entertainment, and TV—on web, mobile, and TV platforms. This role focuses heavily on content curation, packaging, scheduling, and copyediting, with occasional opportunities for long-form writing.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, creative, and able to collaborate across teams to deliver compelling cross-platform content experiences. This person will work closely with partners, monitor breaking news, track performance metrics, and help shape long-term content strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, curate, and program editorial features across various content verticals.
- Monitor media sources to post breaking news and schedule features to maximize engagement.
- Maintain regular communication with content partners and manage workflows for obtaining and publishing partner content.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support long-term editorial strategy and new content features.
- Analyze metrics to understand audience behavior and optimize content performance.
- Schedule and copyedit content daily, ensuring consistent programming across shifts.
- Contribute ideas on how to enhance a cross-platform news/entertainment/TV experience.
- Uphold editorial quality standards around clarity, accuracy, grammar, and storytelling.
- Support programming needs during off-hours or holidays as required.
Requirements
- 1+years of editorial experience.
- Strong written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail in spelling, grammar, and clarity.
- Ability to write engaging, creative, and concise copy.
- Experience using content management systems and analytics tools.
- Interest in news, current events, entertainment, and cultural trends.
- Basic Photoshop editing skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable contributing ideas in group discussions and brainstorming sessions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or equivalent experience.
•Additional Skills
- 0–2+ years of experience in editorial programming, content curation, digital merchandising, or digital media (combined experience acceptable across categories).
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new tools and platforms quickly (e.g., Excel, Airtable, Looker, CMS/scheduling systems).
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently and drive projects forward.
- Passionate consumer of TV and movies with strong awareness of entertainment trends and cultural conversations.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Interest in entertainment categories such as TV, Kids, Music, and Multicultural content.
- Curious mindset with strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
