Summary of Position
Newsday, an award-winning news organization serving Long Island through its portfolio of print and digital products, has an opening for a versatile sports reporter to cover high school sports in a region with over 150 public and private high schools.
The ideal candidate has a range of storytelling skills, can write for various platforms and engage and grow a digital audience. The candidate will be required to collaborate with NewsdayTV, which includes writing scripts and producing video packages.
This position requires writing on tight deadlines, excellent reporting skills and the ability to produce fast, clear and high-impact stories that shed new light on trends both on and off the field of play.

Compensation
The hourly base rate for this role is $33.18
