Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist performs the following duties to assigned sites across Mayo Midwest : accurately and efficiently procures and ensures an effective inventory of medications and supplies; assists with the management of medication shortages; processes medication recalls and the return of pharmaceuticals and / or their destruction; and performs the duties of a Pharmacy Purchasing Technician as assigned.

This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship / we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Qualifications

Note : These qualifications apply to the Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist, which are the minimum qualifications that must be met for all levels.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (business, management, accounting or related field) AND 2-years of pharmacy technician experience;

OR

OR

Additional Qualifications

A minimum of 2-years' experience in pharmacy purchasing and inventory control strongly preferred.

No history of drug abuse or misuse, or proof of successful completion of a certified drug abuse rehabilitation program is required.

Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English.

Must be detailed-oriented; able to prioritize work and able to work independently under general guidelines and procedures.

Must demonstrate excellent communication skills; computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications; work collaboratively with others and work independently with minimal supervision.

License and Certification

National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.

Current registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy, or eligible to obtain prior to start date.

May not perform duties requiring registration until registration is obtained.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

Note : Placement within a level and within the range is dependent on experience and qualifications.

Purchasing Specialist : $26.00 - $38.55 / hour Purchasing Specialist Tech V : $26.71 - $39.82 / hour
