Conflicts Research Analyst

We're recruiting on behalf of a nationally respected law firm seeking a Conflicts Research Analyst to join their growing conflicts team. This role plays a critical part in helping attorneys navigate ethical obligations and identify potential conflicts of interest for new matters and lateral hires.

It's a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong legal research skills, a service mindset, and an interest in compliance and legal ethics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Define search strategies and conduct conflict checks using the firm's internal electronic system (Intapp or similar)
2. Analyze and summarize results for attorneys and Conflicts Counsel, identifying potential issues and offering recommended resolutions
3. Perform corporate research using online databases to uncover relationships and affiliations
4. Draft engagement letters, conflict waivers, and ethical screen memorandums for internal review
5. Collaborate with Conflicts Counsel, Conflicts Attorneys, General Counsel, and the broader legal team to support resolution efforts
6. Assist with ongoing cleanup and reconciliation of client/matter records in the conflicts database
7. Provide responsive, high-level support to attorneys and legal assistants
8. Occasionally support requests outside of regular business hours as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent combination of education and relevant law firm experience)
• 12+ years of experience in a conflicts department at a mid- to large-sized law firm
• Familiarity with legal ethics and professional responsibility rules related to conflicts
• Experience with Intapp or similar legal conflicts software strongly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable translating complex research into clear, actionable guidance
