JOB TITLE : Echo Vascular Supervisor

Hours of Work : Monday - Friday

Shift : Day

Direct Report : Clinical and Noninvasive Services Director

Overview : The Echo Vascular Supervisor provides strong clinical leadership and advanced technical expertise in echocardiography and vascular imaging services, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistently high-quality patient care. This role serves as the key liaison between physicians, sonographers, and leadership while setting the standard for clinical excellence, professionalism and collaborative practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee echo vascular imaging studies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between physicians, sonographers, and clinical leadership to ensure clear communication regarding protocols, study requirements, and patient care.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating clinical imaging excellence, professionalism, and a patient-centered approach.
  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily assignments across echo vascular imaging areas to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
  • Monitor staff performance through ongoing coaching, timely feedback, formal annual evaluations, and development of individualized professional growth plans.
  • Oversees timecard accuracy, manages daily callouts, and reviews and approves time-off requests to ensure appropriate staffing, payroll compliance, and uninterrupted patient care.
  • Monitor ultrasound equipment functionality, coordinate maintenance and repairs, and manage supply inventory.
  • Assist with development, implementation, and ongoing review of departmental policies, procedures, and imaging protocols.

Qualifications :

  • A graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or cardiovascular technology program. RDCS and RVT or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, regulatory compliance and imaging excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of IAC accreditation standards.
  • Prior supervisory, lead technologist, or training experience preferred.
  • Environmental / Working Conditions :

    Regularly performs and supervises echocardiography and vascular imaging procedures requiring prolonged standing, sitting, walking, bending and precise fine motor skills. Work is conducted in a fast-paced outpatient clinical environment with frequent interaction with staff, patients, and the public. The role requires multitasking, real-time problem-solving, and responsiveness to urgent operational needs. Occasional lifting of supplies or equipment or assisting patients is required in accordance with safety standards. Work hours may include early mornings, extended hours, or occasional weekends based on operational needs. The position may involve exposure to infectious disease, bodily fluids, and medical equipment hazards, requiring consistent adherence to standard precautions and safety protocols.
