Join our dynamic team at Denny's as a Culinary Specialist! Reporting to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, you will prepare and present delicious food cooked to order while following our company menu and food specifications. Your commitment to safe food handling regulations will ensure a great dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare, cook, and present food to order while adhering to company brand standards and recipe guidelines.
- Follow correct food prepping procedures and properly store and rotate perishable stock.
- Maintain food temperatures according to Denny's Brand Standards and local regulations.
- Prepare special orders as requested by guests.
- Keep stock levels at shift par standards and assist with inventory and deliveries as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness of all cooking equipment and work areas.
- Adhere to safe food handling principles to ensure health compliance.
- Complete side work and deep cleaning assignments on time.
- Show knowledge of our product and menu offerings.
- Monitor waste and food cost controls.
- Address guest complaints and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Support team members as needed and maintain a positive work environment.
Essential Functions :
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs during shifts and place items on high / low shelves.Ability to bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grasp.Move comfortably in a confined work area.Work both indoors and outdoors as required.Read and interpret tickets, recipes, and product specifications.Stand and walk for extended periods (4 to 8 hours).Communicate effectively in a loud kitchen environment.Comply with health regulations regarding food handling.Work with potentially hazardous chemicals safely.Adapt to extreme temperature changes in kitchen areas.Position Qualifications :
Must be 18 years of age or older.Observe and ensure products meet company standards for preparation and presentation.Basic math skills are necessary, including understanding units of measure.Maintain Denny's uniform and grooming standards throughout shifts.Complete all required tests and training for the position.Flexible schedule availability is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Demonstrate excellent guest service skills.Be dependable and able to learn tasks and follow instructions.Communicate reasonably in English, both orally and in writing.Work effectively in a team environment.Value diversity and show respect for all individuals.Note : Any applicant offered employment will be required to review and sign an agreement for binding arbitration for employment-related disputes.
