Description of Work

Position is assigned to the Signing and Delineation Unit Eastern Region. This position will prepare signing and pavement marking PS&E packages and purchase order contracts projects. Inclusive with this responsibility is the development of preliminary and final design concepts quantity estimates and specifications to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines using design software for signing and pavement marking construction plans sign messages and sign supports.

Salary Grade NC16 Range $57983 - $101470 Hiring Range : $57983 - $79151

Management prefers applicants with the following :

• Working knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering and construction and maintenance methods.
• Experience developing tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision and applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems.
• Experience in using NCDOT Standard specifications and Roadway Standard Drawings
• Experience in Open Roads Designer MUTCD and GuideSign
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary Special Qualification May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
