OVERVIEW: Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Part-time Parcel Freight, you will help facilitate the movement of product throughout our distribution center to company owned branches. You will be responsible for packaging, manifesting and shipping customer orders via a 3rd party carrier. This is an entry level position based out of our distribution center located at 5851 Guion Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46254. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Packaging, manifesting and shipping customers orders
• Weighing, sorting and stacking product
• Using a computer to perform tasks
• Maintain the cleanliness/organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• 18 years of age or over, due to the nature of work
• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
