Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for inpatient rehab with a minimum of 18 months acute hospital experience and current BLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting within a hospital
  • Day shift schedule Monday through Friday, with one weekend day per month required
  • Care for patients across all levels of acuity including ICU and progressive care, with diagnoses such as CABG, stroke, TBI, joint replacements, respiratory illnesses, and neurological conditions
  • Member of a multidisciplinary rehab team of 19 professionals
  • Use of Cerner EMR for charting
  • Floating is required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals
  • OT is responsible for evaluation, plan of care development, ADL training, therapeutic exercise, and daily assessment of discharge disposition
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with a large rehab team
  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • Any previous perm or PRN employee must be away for 12 months before reapplying as a traveler
  • Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires approval
  • Scrubs must be royal blue and worn with black shoes

  • Current, active Occupational Therapist license in IN or Compact state; license required if applicable
  • Minimum 18 months of recent acute hospital OT experience
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • Graduation from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE
  • NBCOT certification required
  • Manual Therapy and Lymphedema certifications preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
