Compensation and Schedule for the Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant - Full-time, onsite, $20-$23 per hour, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Great benefits and a positive working environment!

Required Qualifications of the Medical Assistant

• 2.5+ years of recent medical assistant experience required

• 3+ years of recent medical assistant experience highly preferred

• Orthopedics experience highly preferred

• Orthopedic Tech certification highly preferred

• Medical Assistant diploma or certification required

• High school diploma or GED required

• Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant

• Obtain vital signs, patient history, and document chief complaint

• Alert physician of problems/concerns/abnormalities

• Work with providers, residents, nurse practitioners, and nurses

• Assist providers with wound care

• Maintain hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens

• Collect laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol

• Complete full patient registration and ensure all patient information is updated and current

• Verify insurance eligibility and/or benefits

• Conducts front desk duties as needed
