Venice is hiring: Social Media Content Creator in Vista

In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for producing videos, graphics, and photography that help bring our message to life across digital platforms. From Sunday recaps to social media campaigns and everything in between, your work will inspire, inform, and engage our church family and beyond.

Department: Communications

Status: Part‑Time | Hourly | Non‑Exempt

Reports to: Communications Pastor

Level: $23/hour | Up to 20 hours/week

Hours:

• Sunday 8:30am-4:30pm
• Monday N/A
• Tuesday 10am-2pm
• Wednesday 10am-2pm
• Thursday 4:30pm-8:30pm (seasonal)
• Saturday: N/A

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create social media content that reflects the heart of our church and connects with our community
• Manage day‑to‑day engagement on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
• Create and edit videos from weekend services, into stories, reels, promos, and ministry highlights
• Design graphics for social, web, events, and ministry needs
• Write engaging captions, YouTube descriptions, and content to support posts and campaigns
• Produce and publish a weekly podcast (both video and audio formats)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Active membership and regular attendance at EastLake Church
• Must be a committed Christian whose lifestyle and beliefs align with the mission and values of EastLake Church
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, etc.)
• General understanding of Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook best practices and platform management
• Experience in photography and video capturing for digital content
• Prior experience in content creation, video editing, or digital media (church or nonprofit setting is a plus)
• Strong eye for visual storytelling and detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Communications Department and overall ministry goals.
• Be flexible and willing to assist with church‑wide events, special projects, or cross‑functional team needs as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Mobile – In and out of office to ensure task completion
• This is an on‑site role, working in person with our team and community
• Overtime hours as required by ministry needs
• Church staff is required to abide by the Cultural Expectations (tithe, attendance, conduct, etc.)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

• As a staff person at EastLake Community Church, I agree to abide by all the provisions of the Employee Handbook.
• The Church reserves the right, at any time, with or without notice, to alter or change job responsibilities, reassign or transfer job positions, or assign additional job responsibilities.
• This position is classified by the Church as a Part‑Time paid position and is Non‑Exempt from the overtime provisions, as stated in Employee Handbook.
