American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Oncology RN with at least 2 years of experience, APHON certification, and a CT or compact RN license.

Job Details

  • Position is in a pediatric oncology unit with occasional work on the BMT unit,
  • Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3,
  • Short term acute care hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation,
  • Epic charting system is used; experience preferred,
  • Day shifts, 3x12 hours from 7 : 00 to 19 : 00,
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend,
  • Floating between pediatric oncology and BMT units as needed,

Job Requirements

  • Active CT or compact RN license required or eligible to apply before start date,
  • Minimum of 2 years recent pediatric oncology RN experience,
  • APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology / Oncology Nurses) certification required,
  • Chemotherapy Administration certification required,
  • CPHON / CPON certification preferred,
  • Large facility trauma center experience required,
  • Flu vaccine required without exception,
  • COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless religious or medical exemption granted,
  • One professional reference required,
  • Not accepting local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility,
  • Return staff must have been gone at least 2 years to be considered,

    • Additional Information

  • Care for pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients,
  • Must complete 4 hours of required modules prior to start,
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position,
  • Up to 7 days of requested time off can be auto-approved; additional RTO requires approval,
  • Standard scrub attire required,
