Construction Project Director- Collaborative Delivery Water

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Project Director to lead the execution of a high‑profile, multi‑year collaborative delivery / design‑build water infrastructure project. This role will oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring alignment between clients, delivery teams, partners, and management while driving operational excellence across planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the client, delivery team partners, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to meet expectations, goals, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration and safety, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Oversee planning, design, pre‑construction, procurement, and construction phases, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
  • Direct and oversee project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Provide operational leadership across all staff in day‑to‑day project delivery, contract and risk management, forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting, health and safety, and interpretation of monthly performance of project controls figures.
  • Direct and oversee resource assignment, emphasizing staff development and optimization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15 years of related experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership and / or management capacity.
  • Domestic and / or international travel may be required.
  • May be required to relocate to support business needs.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

    • Skills and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, contract practices, budgeting, planning, control, assurance, risk management, and project management software.
  • Demonstrated expert leadership skills with proven ability to develop and grow staff.
  • Experience building and developing a strong delivery team.
  • Strong reputation for integrity and diplomacy.
  • Expert project management – able to lead multiple work streams, manage multiple deadlines, balance conflicting priorities.
  • Sound business acumen and strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong conflict management skills, including resolution of complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and leverage alliances across business units and external organizations.

    Location

    California, statewide. Candidates located in Los Angeles, Irvine or Rancho Cucamonga are preferred.

    Compensation

  • Pay Range Minimum : $159,931
  • Pay Range Maximum : $327,829
  • All bonuses are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

  • Background checks (criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc.) and drug testing may be required after an offer is made.
