Family Law Paralegal

We're looking for an experienced paralegal to play an important role in our legal team. The paralegal will assist in matters involving child custody and divorce with assignments delegated to them by their supervising attorneys. We are growing fast, and we need a paralegal who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding. Office Hours are Monday thru Friday. This is a Full-time position willing to accommodate a flexible schedule and remote work or a hybrid position.

$72,000 - $85,000 yearly

• Arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
• Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible
• Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
• Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses
• Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills
• Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred

• Required 1-2 years experience in Family Law Legal Services under an attorney in a law firm setting in California
• well versed in legal terminology, laws, judicial decisions, court jurisdictions, and procedures, and Family Law knowledge is a must
• Experience Note: The required knowledge and abilities to perform this function are typically attained through approximately 1-2 years of experience performing work in the Family Law Field
• The ability to work with little supervision
• Computer Literate and Tech Savvy
