Seeking CT Technologist to provide services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Iowa City (hereinafter referred to Iowa City VAMC).   Start Date :

  • Immediate pending clearance by the VA Medical Center Duration : 3 to 9 months Shifts : Day Shift -Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (one hour unpaid lunch).
  • No services required on holidays unless on call.
  • On call (in rotation with other CT Techs) - one to two weeknights per week and one weekend per month.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Interpreting the orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional.
  • Explaining what will happen during the CT scan to patients.
  • Positioning patients properly to take the necessary images.
  • Administering IVs that contain contrast dyes to enhance imaging.
  • Examining images to ensure they are usable.
  • Updating patient medical information Cleaning and maintaining CT scan equipment.
  • Keeping inventory of CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required.

    • Qualifications :

  • You must be a U.S.

    • Citizen to apply for this job.

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program or equivalent.
  • Must have a current (ARRT) (CT) - certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Active BLS Certification Proven experience working as a CT technologist.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Provide proof of Health Record as required.
