We are seeking a dynamic Process Engineer IIIâto join our process engineering team working out of Eichleays Ferndale WA office.â This is a full-time role which offers competitive compensation and benefit packages.â Our benefits include medical 401K match company contributions to a Health Savings Account Paid Time Off Paid Holidays and more.â âIn this position you will report to the Process Team Lead and travel as required to meet with internal teams clients and perform field visits.

Compensation : $115000 - $150000

  • Anticipated annual salary may vary based on skills experience qualifications and internal peer equity.â The pay range listed for this position is based on the anticipated base compensation at the time of the posting.â

Key Responsibilities :

  • Apply Chemical Engineering principles to complete process engineering tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals budgets and schedules.
  • Prepare PFDs P&IDs Line and Tie-In Lists.
  • Produce process engineering calculations such as pressure drop and equipment sizing.
  • Develop process data sheets for stationary and rotating equipment including pressure vessels tanks separators filters heat transfer equipment pumps and compressors.
  • Evaluate equipment overpressure scenarios and relief systems including PSV sizing following applicable client standards API 520 Part I / II and API 521.
  • Perform utility sizing calculations and utility system analysis
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) sessions.
  • Review vendor drawings to ensure design accuracy and compliance with specifications
  • Interface with other internal engineering disciplines (mechanical piping civil / structural electrical instrumentation automation architecture) to ensure a coordinated design and complete engineering deliverables.
  • Work on all project phases from feasibility studies conceptual design detailed design and construction support.
  • Provide construction support activities including responding to submittals and RFIs.
  • Consistently achieve goals deliver quality and accurate work and meet timelines. This includes reviewing project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health safety and environmental issues. Address those issues as necessary to ensureâzero harm to all employees clients and contractors with zero environmental incidents.â
  • Job Requirements :

    Experience : Minimum of 5 years experience in Process Engineering for Refinery or other oil and gas related industries.

    Education : Bachelors in Chemical Engineering (BSChE) from an ABET accredited program

    Location : This position is based out of our Ferndale WA office. It is a hybrid role with an expectation to be in the office 3 days a week (Tues-Thurs).

    Skills :

    Strong communication skills including writing skills preparing reports to describe design conclusions deliver presentations analyses etc.

    Technical Competence :

    Proven ability to develop PFDs and P&IDs.

    Simulation experience using HYSYS PRO / II or other comparable process simulation software.

    Experience developing process data sheets for stationary and rotating equipment including pressure vessels tanks separators filters heat transfer equipment pumps and compressors.

    Sound knowledge of API ASME and ANSI standards.

    Certifications : EIT / PE preferred but not required

    Collaboration : Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within Eichleay and with clients and partners.

    Travel : Frequent travel will be required to a nearby refinery site location. â

    Preferred Skills / Experience :

    Knowledgeable in refinery and / or chemical plant unit operations.â

    Professional Engineer (PE) Certification preferredâ

    Excellent oral and written communication skills.ââ

    Demonstrated commitment to continued learning and education through participation in internal and / or external training opportunities.

    Ability to work effectively in a schedule driven environment where timing is a critical function.

    Effectively interact with all levels of employees clients and vendors.

    Strong customer focus with commitment to building enduring relationships that yield customer satisfaction and loyalty.

    Ability to deal with change and demonstrate flexibility as required.

    Industry Requirements :

    This role may require all or some of the following requirements at time of hire or during employment :

  • RSO Safety Training and current card or ability to obtain.
  • Client Safety Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
  • TWIC Certification and current card or ability to obtain.
  • Background screening including previous employment education criminal history and driving record verification.

  • Job duties may be performed at a client site production facility or industrial / construction job site. Day to day job direction will typically be by Eichleay team lead. â
