Location: Everette, WA
Length of Assignment: 12 months with potential to extend

Responsibilities
· Perform a wide range of hands-on laboratory-based materials testing and characterization activities to support the Natrium reactor
· Perform metallography and characterization for a wide range of metallic and ceramic materials
· Generate reports detailing characterization techniques and resulting data
· Perform hands-on radiation work, including work inside of a glovebox
· Operate and maintain materials focused laboratory equipment such as furnaces, polishing equipment, and metallography equipment
· Assist with the design, fabrication, and operation of custom laboratory experiments
· Coordinate receipt inspections of incoming materials, sectioning of materials, and shipping of materials with both on-site and off-site individuals
Key Qualifications
· A Technology or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. A degree in Materials Science/Engineering/Technology, Metallurgical Engineering/Technology or a related technical discipline is desired
· Demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience is required
· Metallography and sample prep experience is required
· A high attention to detail and quality control is required
· SEM-EDS, microscopy, and other characterization experience is preferred
· Experience working to quality standards such as ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, or others is preferred
· Lab management experience (e.g., maintaining spaces and/or equipment) is preferred
· Experience with radiation work, including working within gloveboxes, is desired
· Strong communication skills desired
· The service provider will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork.
Estimated Compensation Range: $37 - $74 per hour. All experience levels considered.
