Housekeeper

As a cleaning professional on the Scramble Indoor Play team, you must be reliable, detail-oriented and outgoing in providing a safe, clean environment for children and families. Great candidates will be enthusiastic, reliable, team-oriented self-starters excited to step into a fast-paced, dynamic environment that offers multiple opportunities for personal growth and advancement. Our staff plays a major role in achieving our mission of “Changing the Way Families Play.”   Applicants should be responsible and efficient while working to keep all Scramble facilities in superior condition so that children and families can enjoy a clean and safe environment for play and relaxation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Scramble is a busy indoor play facility in Alexandria, Virginia with an immediate opening for a janitor / housekeeper.  Our business includes play areas, café seating, party rooms, and a retail store.

• Monitor cleanliness of all Scramble facilities, keeping them in excellent condition in accordance with all established Scramble policies and procedures including cleaning, health, and safety requirements.
• Clean, disinfect, and stock designated areas with required supplies
• Maintain clean bathrooms and utility area
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
• Clean up spills with appropriate equipment
• Clean, disinfect, and tidy cafe seating and party rooms
• Vacuum and dust retail store as necessary
• Collect and dispose of trash, emptying trash and recycling bins as needed
• Track cleaning supplies and order as needed
• Notify supervisor or management team if any major repairs need to take place
• Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate ability to adapt, improvise, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
• Communicate with guests (both adults and children) in a polite, positive, and professional manner
• Participate in all staff training sessions and meetings

Qualifications

Education and / or Experience

Language Skills

Must be able to understand and communicate in the English language.

Scramble is busiest on weekends and Federal holidays. Successful candidates should expect to work at least one day each weekend and multiple holidays. Scramble is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
