Courier Student Newspaper Editor, SC2COURRESACT (SP26)
Student Worker Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To serve as an editor for the Courier Student Newspaper and Courier online publication. Ensures newspaper is published on time, within budget, and in accordance with the highest of journalism practices of accuracy.
- Responsible for the editorial quality of the Courier Student Newspaper in all aspects, including accuracy, reporting, writing, photography, design, and website.
- Responsible for ensuring that newspaper deadlines are met.
- Responsible for maintaining high ethical and journalistic standards, and abiding by state, college and student press laws.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings.
- Maintain effective and appropriate communication with other editors and advisor(s).
- Represent yourself, the Courier Student Newspaper, Student Life, and the College of DuPage in a professional manner at all times.
- Volunteer for Student Life events as available.
- Attend Student Life Living Leadership workshops as available.
- Always be recruiting new students to the Courier Student Newspaper.

- Being an editor of the Courier Student Newspaper takes a significant commitment of time and energy in order to be successful.
- In addition to constantly working to improve their journalistic skills, editors must have effective time management and communication skills.
- They also must be willing to work as part of a team and open to learning to new things.
- This student position does not require pre-employment testing.
Pay Rate: Student Rate 1 - $15.00 p/hr
