Required Education :

Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education or Psychology are preferred fields of study. Other fields may be considered if applicant has a strong background in early childhood.

Required Related Experience :

Applicant must have experience working with young children, preferably in school settings. We are looking for a few students who love working with children during the Fall of 25 at the Early Childhood Lab. The program starts on August 25 and continues through the fall semester.

Required License / Registration / Certification :

Applicant must have a current negative TB test (within the last 2 years) or be willing to get one. CPR and 1st aid certification is required within 3 months of employment. All employees must have a finger print background check. This will be done when applicants are offered the job.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to pick up children weighing up to 40 pounds, push strollers and be able to get up and down from the floor several times a day. The children also go outside at least 2 times each day. Teachers go outside with children.

Shift :

The ECL opens at 7 : 00a.m. and closes at 5 : 30.p.m.

Job Summary :

Job duties of a student worker at the ECL include playing with and supervising young children, helping classroom teachers with cleaning and organizing, assisting with daily routines, reading to children, and going to the playground and walks around campus.
