Electrical Technician I

Overview

This position will be responsible for maintenance / construction activities around high voltage (up to 345 kV) substations and transmission lines. This will require an extensive amount of travel throughout the US. This person must have a "safety first" attitude with an understanding of doing the job right the first time.

Responsibilities

• Working in and around wind turbines
• Ability to professionally interact with customers and coworkers on a daily basis
• Ability to perform maintenance / construction on electrical collection systems including underground cable faults, pad-mount transformers, switchgears, T-Bodies, Splices and Wind turbine wiring up to 34.5 kV
• Attend safety meetings and complete safety paperwork on a daily basis
• Demonstrate safety as a top priority
• Complete an inventory of material on a daily / weekly basis
• Diagnose and fix any problem that could cause the electrical system to be shut down unexpectedly or fail to operate properly
• Troubleshoot and / or test electrical components and systems.
• Service underground transmission systems, substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems
• Replace worn or malfunctioning components
