Our client, a family-owned company going back 100 years, is looking to add a Production Manager to lead a 24/7 chemical manufacturing operation, overseeing all production activities with a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role provides both strategic and hands-on leadership, managing people, processes, and resources to meet operational goals while fostering a high-performing, safety-driven culture
Salary: $110k-$140k
Fully onsite, M-F, normal business hours with after-hours on-call responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multi-shift production team of approximately 70 employees, including supervisors, engineers, operators, and technicians
- Promote a strong culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility
- Direct daily production activities and oversee scheduling to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and effective use of maintenance systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, productivity, and capacity
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards and investigate incidents to improve processes and SOPs
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, quality, R&D, and warehouse teams to achieve company objectives
- Support capital improvement projects related to safety, reliability, and operational efficiency
Qualifications - 5+ years of leadership experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industrial environment
- 7+ years of personnel management experience in a 24/7 operation
- Strong knowledge of chemical processing equipment and manufacturing systems
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and integrity
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, and safety regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or related discipline preferred)
Preferred Experience - Experience working within OSHA PSM or equivalent regulatory programs
- Familiarity with process control systems, PLCs, or DCS environments
Work Environment - Approximately 50% office and 50% manufacturing plant setting
- Physical ability to work in an industrial environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights
