Job Title : Controller (Consolidation)

Department : Accounting / Finance

Reports To : VP of Finance and Administration

FLSA Status : Exempt

Salary Range : $90,000 - $120,000

Summary

The Controller (Consolidation) is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and processes, producing consolidated financial statements, and leading post-merger accounting integrations. This role plays a critical function in ensuring financial compliance and robust internal controls to support the company's growth. Experience in manufacturing accounting is preferred.

Japanese bilingual ability is required due to regular communication with the Japanese headquarters and involvement in internal audits and documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver consolidated financial statements to internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead accounting integration projects following mergers and acquisitions.
• Continuously improve consolidation workflows, reporting packages, and internal controls.
• Review customer contracts to ensure compliance with ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards.
• Coordinate closely with external auditors and internal auditors from the Japanese headquarters.
• Prepare annual internal documentation such as corporate self-assessments.
• Act as the primary liaison during the Japanese HQ internal audit visit (typically once per year).
• Develop and monitor KPIs for accounting operations.
• Support daily financial functions under the VP of Finance and Director of Finance.
• Lead or assist with various controllership tasks and ad-hoc finance projects.
