Role Summary The Procurement Director will lead the global procurement function, overseeing strategy, supplier relationships, cost optimization, and compliance across multiple regions, with a strong focus on Latin America (LATAM). This leader will drive transformation, implement best practices, and position procurement as a strategic partner to the business.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy - Define and execute the global procurement vision, policies, and framework to deliver measurable business impact.
- Partner with C-suite executives to align procurement goals with corporate growth, profitability, and sustainability objectives.
- Build and manage a high-performing procurement team across multiple geographies, ensuring cultural and regulatory alignment in LATAM.
Category Management & Strategic Sourcing - Oversee all categories of spend (direct, indirect, CAPEX, OPEX), ensuring cost savings, quality, and resilience.
- Develop LATAM-specific sourcing strategies, leveraging knowledge of local markets, FTAs, and supplier ecosystems.
- Drive innovation through supplier-enabled solutions and long-term partnerships.
Supplier & Contract Management - Establish governance for supplier selection, risk management, and performance monitoring at a global scale.
- Negotiate and oversee master service agreements (MSAs), long-term contracts, and strategic partnerships.
- Ensure supplier diversity, ESG compliance, and ethical sourcing practices in all markets.
Process & Technology Transformation - Lead procurement digital transformation: e-sourcing platforms, ERP integrations, AI-driven spend analytics.
- Standardize and optimize procurement processes across LATAM and other global regions.
- Monitor KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, procurement cycle times, and compliance.
Risk & Compliance Management - Anticipate and mitigate supply chain risks including geopolitical changes, currency fluctuations, and inflationary pressures in LATAM.
- Oversee compliance with trade agreements, local regulations, and international standards.
- Serve as escalation point for supplier disputes, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
Cross-Border & LATAM Expertise - Build and maintain strong supplier networks in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile.
- Navigate complex trade blocs (MERCOSUR, Pacific Alliance, USMCA) and customs procedures.
- Adapt procurement strategies to LATAM's unique market dynamics, cultural nuances, and economic conditions.
Qualifications - Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or International Trade. MBA preferred.
- Experience:
- 12+ years of procurement leadership, with at least 5 in a director-level or regional head capacity.
- Demonstrated LATAM regional procurement expertise, including supplier networks and regulatory knowledge.
- Track record of delivering multimillion-dollar savings, driving supplier innovation, and leading procurement transformations.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and influencing skills at board/executive level.
- Negotiation mastery and deep understanding of contracts.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required; Portuguese strongly preferred.
- Expert in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa) and procurement analytics tools.
