Duration : 13 Weeks / 3+ Months
Shift : Monday - Friday; 5x8-Hour Shifts (08 : 00-17 : 00 or 08 : 30-17 : 30, varied)
Position Summary
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for processing primary care referrals to specialists, obtaining necessary authorizations from third-party payers, and supporting patients throughout the referral process. This includes scheduling specialist appointments, maintaining accurate logs (including IEHP), and providing timely updates to both patients and physicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage referrals from primary care providers to specialists.
- Obtain authorizations from third-party insurance providers.
- Notify patients and physicians of referral statuses and specialist information.
- Assist patients with scheduling specialist appointments as needed.
- Maintain IEHP logs and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
