Refracting Ophthalmic Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join this team. The ideal candidate will preferably hold a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification but at a minimum must be proficient in refracting. This role is essential in providing high-quality eye care to patients and requires a commitment to excellence in clinical practice. This ophthalmology practice values its team and is committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.

Responsibilities :

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including obtaining medical histories and performing initial testing.
• Conduct refraction and assist in other diagnostic procedures as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Travel between our locations in Palm Harbor Port Richey and Zephyrhills as needed.
• Participate in a skills assessment as part of the hiring process.
• Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure the best patient outcomes.
• Be available to work Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM as part of the regular schedule.
• Follow the scheduling provided two weeks in advance unless responding to last-minute changes.
