Your Role as a Home Health Occupational Therapist:

• Deliver occupational therapy to patients who have difficulty completing daily tasks due to illness or injury
• Collaborate within a home health team including an RN, LPN, CNA, HHA, PT, and SLP, focusing on the personalized plan of care and patient goals
• Evaluate patients, identify deficits, set therapy goals, and document their progress
• Guide patients through exercises aimed at enhancing fine motor skills and coordination
• Recommend adaptive equipment, such as grab bars and shower chairs, to provide additional support
• Evaluate fall risks and implement strategies to boost home safety
• Educate patients and their families on the care plan, exercises, objectives, and self-management techniques

Requirements for Home Health Occupational Therapists:

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and an active OT license in Kansas
• Current CPR certification
• Familiarity with state and federal home health regulations
• Excellent clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and compassion
