Laboratory - Pathologists Assistant

Job Summary (List Format):

- Position: Pathologists' Assistant
- Location: Doan Lab, Ohio State University (OSU)
- Shift: 09:30 AM - 6:00 PM
- Unit accepts first-time travelers (preference for candidates with experience)
- Primary responsibilities involve handling specimens from the University Hospital Operating Room (OR)
- Majority of cases are benign lesions (approx. 95%)
- Some cases include colon cancer resections and native liver specimens
- Participate in research procurement by selecting tissue from products of conception (POCs) for karyotyping
- Perform biopsy grossing as needed, depending on staffing
- May receive additional cancer cases from another lab, but focus will primarily be on benign cases and biopsies
- Medical screening (vaccinations) and background check required before start date
- Certification: Pathologists' Assistant (ASCP) required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in a Pathologists' Assistant role
