Special Education Teacher - Peoria, AZ

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is based in Avondale, AZ, offering a contract position through the end of the 2025-2026 academic year. The role involves providing specialized instruction and support at an elementary school serving approximately four students across 3rd and 4th grades.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored educational instruction and support to students with a diverse range of disabilities and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate closely with para-educator staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and facilitate student success.
• Maintain a structured and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student growth and development.
• Participate in team meetings, progress monitoring, and communication with families as needed.

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM
• Wednesday: 8:15 AM to 2:00 PM (early release day for students)

Location:

• Onsite position at a supportive elementary school in Avondale, AZ.

Qualifications:

• Valid Arizona Special Education (SPED) Educator Certification.
• An IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Comfort and experience working with a diverse population of students with various disabilities and behavioral challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational team.
