Internship - Personal Training-Health/Wellness

The internship offers a comprehensive learning experience outlining the YMCA's mission and its impact on the community and the associated non-profit operational practices/procedures that support these efforts. Specific health and wellness focused training, tasks and special projects will provide practical and real life experience with all areas of health and wellness.

Key learning objectives:

• Hands-on experience in youth health and wellness programming
• Skill development in program research, planning, facilitation, and community engagement
• Support and encourage healthy lifestyle choices, fitness, and mental well-being
• Engage with youth through interactive discussions, games, and physical activities
• Help track progress and participation in wellness initiatives

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise
• Science, Recreational or Non-profit Management or other related discipline
• Strong communication skills
• Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
• Must be able to pass background check
