Job Summary
This position starts in August 2024 with an expected end date of May 12, 2025. Renewal of this position is based on the available funds and needs of Phoenix College.
Phoenix College is seeking a faculty member with the ability to teach Computer Information System Courses to students from diverse backgrounds and/or cultures at the junior and senior level in a classroom/lab setting. In this position the faculty member will develop and teach a variety of Technology Courses including networking, cybersecurity, A+, programming, virtualization, Linux, computer information systems and stay current with technology. The faculty member will be required to contribute beyond a normal teaching schedule.
This position is located at the PC City College Center (640 Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85003).
Essential Functions
Supervises and instructs students in a classroom/computer lab setting using a variety of presentation techniques emphasizing technology
Develops course syllabi, outlines and other course materials for a variety of course preparations
Maintains office hours to assist and advise students
Evaluates knowledge of subject matter including grading and monitoring of student’s scholastic records
Participates in campus, district, community and partnership meetings and committee work
Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s Degree or higher in the teaching field -OR-
A Master’s Degree or higher in any field and 18 graduate-level credits or 24 upper-division undergraduate credits in the teaching field -OR-
A Bachelor’s degree in any field plus three (3) years of occupational experience in the field to be taught - OR-
Five (5) years of occupational experience in the field to be taught

Desired Qualifications
1. Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or Technology Area.
2. Experience in IT field with networking, cyber security, programming, and systems analysis.
3. Industry Certifications in any of the following areas: Networking, Security, Windows, Linux/Unix, Virtualization, or Cloud Technology.
4. Teaching experience at the community college or university level in the area of IT within the last 5 years.
5. Designed or developed and implemented curriculum for diverse student populations
6. Knowledge of and/or experience with curriculum and teaching strategies
7. Experience developing and/or teaching online/hybrid courses (Must provide a list of courses with details of what was developed and taught)
