This is a faculty position at Womack Army Medical Center in the Family Medicine Residency Clinic, Fort Bragg, NC. * A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. * Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. We manage several outstanding Primary Care practice sites located in Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks. Womack is located in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg which is 2 hours from the beach and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south. This central North Carolina location enjoys seasonably palatable weather year-round. Responsibilities As a Family Practice Physician you will: Duties * Provide direct supervision, guidance, and instruction to medical residents and students rotating through the Family Medicine Residency Clinic. * Function as an attending physician, examine patients, determine need for and order laboratory test, x-rays, and other procedures necessary to complete medical facts on the case and make diagnoses, while serving as a mentor to residents. * Make presumptive diagnoses of more serious or uncommon conditions and seeks advice of appropriate consultants. * Responsible for supervision of medical students, physician assistant students, and nurse practitioner students assigned to the Primary Care Services Division, Family Medicine Residency Clinic. * Comply with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements for residency faculty, including participating in organized clinical discussions, faculty development, and educational presentations. Qualifications US Citizen Board Certified Family Medicine Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country). Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
