Our client is seeking an experienced Controller Consultant for a long-term engagement in Troy, Michigan. In this role, you will take charge of overseeing accounting processes, ensuring operational efficiency, and holding team members accountable for their responsibilities. This position requires someone who can identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions to maintain smooth workflows.

The day-to-day responsibilities include :

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, helping them understand their roles and meet their responsibilities.
  • Hold team members accountable for completing assigned tasks and address obstacles to their progress.
  • Identify inefficiencies and propose actionable solutions to optimize operational workflows.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring consistency and precision.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment on financial procedures and goals.
  • Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback to drive improvement.
  • Assist in managing special projects related to financial operations and organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for accounting and operational processes.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of financial systems and address challenges as they arise.

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set :

  • Proven experience in a Controller role with expertise in accounting processes.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and guide teams effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and implement solutions.
  • Ability to hold team members accountable and foster a culture of responsibility.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and the ability to ensure their optimal use.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities, including special projects, in a dynamic environment.
