Perm- CRNA Operating Room (OR)

Job Description :

• Schedule is 4-10s + On call
• Call is split monthly between the number of CRNA s (currently 23) so each person gets roughly 1-2 weekdays per month and 1 weekend every couple months
• This position in collaboration with a physician develops an anesthesia care plan. Provides IV sedation and / or monitored anesthesia care and / or administers general, regional or local anesthesia for a variety of surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
• Monitors patients accurately and performs Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), ventilation or life support measures during emergencies throughout the Medical Center.
• Manages the patients physiological condition while under anesthesia and initiates corrective actions as necessary or as directed by a physician.
• Assists with other departmental or professional duties as requested by the Manager of Anesthesiology.

Essential Duties :

(25%) Perform pre-anesthetic evaluation and preparation

Skills (include but are not limited to) :

Adult and pediatric venipuncture

Other Duties and Responsibilities :

Takes appropriate safety precautions to insure the safe administration of his / her anesthesia care.

Experience, Training, and Additional Skills :

Education : Knowledge of anesthesia as normally acquired through completion of an accredited program of nurse anesthesia culminating in NBCRNA certification and licensure in the State of Michigan. May also be in the process of completing final course work and waiting to take State Boards.

Written, organization, and interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups to interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
