Senior IT Manager
The Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office (HCTO) is seeking an experienced Senior IT Manager to implement and administer innovative, user-centric technology solutions that support the Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector's mission and ability to serve and communicate with Harris County residents. This role is critical in shaping the Office's technology infrastructure and implementing technology that supports its operations, ensuring that IT systems and services are maintained and advanced.
The Senior IT Manager will also supervise a team of IT professionals and provide the Tax Office with up-to-date options on the latest software, hardware, and online tools to improve processes and increase the ability to leverage data for analysis and innovation. This will be a hands-on role, in which the Senior IT Manager is expected to assist the software and hardware team with application architecture, design, coding, review, and lead the deployment activities, including production support, IT help desk of all the core systems of the Tax Office.

Education : Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution within the U.S. Required education and experience may be substituted for each other on a year-for-year basis.
Experience : Eight (8) years of experience in information technology plus experience in managing a technical support team. Requires experience with business support models, including outsourced, fully managed, and co-location. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, support operations, and service delivery. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements : Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record. This position requires travel to remote tax office locations and other county facilities; therefore, the selected candidate will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check as part of the hiring process. Employment is also contingent upon the successful completion and favorable results of a criminal background check and substance abuse screening.
