Michigan HemOnc - Block Scheduling with Low Call Burden

An immediate locums opening for a Board Certified Hematology / Oncology Physician is available in Michigan for ongoing coverage.

Highlights

  • Block scheduling offered : work two consecutive weeks per month.
  • Low call burden : call is 1 : 2 but involves very few actual calls.

Practice Setting

  • Outpatient focus with inpatient component.
  • Facility holds three major accreditations, including American College of Surgeons CoC.
  • Collegial 4-provider group (1 MD, 3 APPs) environment.

    • Schedule

  • Only 2 weeks per month
  • Typical shifts are 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM, Monday-Friday.
  • Coverage includes occasional night and weekend call.
  • Call is Beeper type with a 15-minute response time required.

    • Procedures and Cases

  • Target patient volume is an average of 10-15 patients per day.
  • New patient consults are booked for 60 minutes; follow-ups are 30 minutes.
  • Scope is Hematology and Oncology coverage; no inductions performed at the facility.
  • Weekly tumor board and onsite genetic counselor are available.

    • Requirements

  • Must be a Physician (MD / DO) with an active MI license.
  • Board Certification in Hematology / Oncology is required.
  • Fellowship is preferred.
  • Must hold ACLS and BLS certifications.

    • Credentialing Requirements

  • Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60 days.
  • Must obtain hospital and / or surgery center privileges.
