Blueprint Literacy : Proven ability to read structural and mechanical blueprints, including an understanding of bend deductions and flat patterns. Mathematical Proficiency : Strong grasp of shop math, including geometry and decimals, to calculate proper bend sequences. Material Knowledge : Understanding of how different materials (carbon steel, stainless, aluminum) react to forming, including "spring-back" adjustments. Physical Stamina : Ability to stand for 10-hour shifts and lift / manipulate large steel sheets in coordination with a helper. Shift : Full-Time 2nd Shift 3pm-11 : 30pm Pay : $20+ depending on experience Health Coverage : Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans. Also offers a Health Saving Account (HSA). Job Description
Falcon Steel is looking for a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our precision fabrication team. This is a critical role responsible for forming high-quality steel components used in a variety of industrial applications.
As an operator on our 1st shift, you will take the lead on complex bends, working closely with a material handler to maintain high production speeds while ensuring every angle meets our strict tolerance standards. We are looking for a "craftsman" mindset—someone who understands how metal behaves under pressure and takes pride in the accuracy of their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation : Set up and operate CNC hydraulic press brakes (e.g., Amada, Cincinnati, or Trumpf) to bend, notch, and form metal plates.
- Tooling & Setup : Select, install, and align correct punches and dies based on material thickness and required radius.
- Technical Interpretation : Read and interpret complex blueprints and 3D drawings to determine the correct bend sequence and dimensions.
- Quality Precision : Perform "first-part" inspections and regular checks using calipers, protractors, and go / no-go gauges to maintain tolerances (often within + / - .015").
- Maintenance : Perform routine machine maintenance, including checking oil levels and cleaning the bed and tooling to ensure longevity and safety.
