Job Summary
The Embedded Advisor serves as a trusted guide, advocate, and brand ambassador for Mesa Community College (MCC), working both within partner high schools and on the MCC campus to strengthen the college-going pipeline. This dynamic, student-centered role is designed to support seamless transitions from high school to college by recruiting, advising, onboarding, and supporting students through early college and postsecondary pathways with goals to increase early college engagement, postsecondary enrollment, and milestone completion leading to student success.
Embedded within Mesa Public Schools and other partner districts, the advisor builds meaningful relationships with students, families, counselors, and educators while maintaining a strong presence on the college campus to support enrollment, engagement, and student success goals. The Embedded Advisor recruits students into early college opportunities, including Dual Enrollment, Achieving a College Education (ACE), and Hoop of Learning (HOL), and supports students throughout their entire early college journey, from initial outreach and onboarding through successful participation and completion of program milestones with the goal of increasing early college participation and student success.
In addition, the Embedded Advisor actively recruits students into postsecondary programs at MCC and serves as a one-stop support resource, guiding them through admissions, applications, FAFSA completion, orientation, registration, academic planning, and first-term enrollment. By providing high-touch, personalized support, the advisor ensures students are prepared, confident, and connected as they begin their college experience.
As a visible ambassador for MCC, the Embedded Advisor leads outreach and recruitment initiatives, represents the college at events and in the community, hosts campus tours, workshops, and programming, and engages students and families through phone calls, text messaging, and in-person, virtual, and digital platforms. The advisor collaborates closely with high school partners, campus departments, and community organizations to expand access, promote opportunity, and drive enrollment growth.
The Embedded Advisor leverages technology, CRM systems, and student information platforms to track outreach, monitor student progress, showcase impact, and support institutional recruitment and retention goals. This role blends advising, recruitment, relationship-building, and case management to create a holistic, student-focused experience from high school through college success.
Work Schedule
During the academic year, the Embedded Advisor will split time between assigned high schools (approximately 60 percent) and the Mesa Community College campus (approximately 40 percent). During summer and academic breaks, the position will be fully based on the MCC campus to support student services and enrollment operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Desired Qualifications
A. Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
B. Experience providing support or guidance to students, clients, or customers through complex processes or systems to achieve defined outcomes.
C. Experience in recruitment, outreach, or sales roles with a record of achieving measurable results.
D. Ability to develop and deliver materials, presentations, programming or support structure that support recruitment, engagement, retention, and successful outcomes for students, clients, or customers.
E. Experience establishing and sustaining partnerships that increase access, engagement, or participation.
F. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
G. Ability to use technology to perform job duties, organize work, and track progress against goals.
H. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years.
Special Working Conditions
Work schedule varies during the year : August through mid-May : Monday - Friday, 8 hour days; mid-May through the end of July : Monday - Thursday, 10 hour days
May require working evening and weekend hours (example : Saturday coverage during peak weeks)
Required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor
May be required to travel or be assigned to another MCCD location
Travel to campus during interview / selection process will be at candidate's own expense
